Trouble with Primary/Secondary Connections using Subsonic

Issue description

I am currently using subsonic to connect to my home lab, on which i run navidrome via docker. All of my software is up to date. i’m not using any betas.

I’m trying to get it so that when I’m home, symfonium uses my local network and when i’m away, it routes via my cloudflare registered domain. Even when i’m home and disable mobile data - so i’m only using wifi, the checkmark for the connection is always the secondary (which uses music.mydomainname.com port 443) vs my local 192.168.1.199:4533.

I have uploaded logs to support.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open symfonium
  2. Disable my mobile data.
  3. Play a track.

If the connection works then it stays on it as no reason to change.

You can use the API to force change whenever you want.

Thanks so much for chiming in. I really have loved this - in looking through the docs as best as I know how - i see that was released in version 13.4.0 - however - i cannot for the life of me find out how to utilize this. Mind pointing me in the right direction? Thanks for your time.

Gotcha - thanks kindly. While i have you - an please pardon the ignorance in this question - I did purchase symfonium and i’m quite happy with it. I’m also just trying to learn more about this kind of stuff. To that end - is there a situation that the primary and secondary connection capabilities are supposed to help solve if not for solving the exact problem i’m having? Aka - if you can use the primary connection - use it … if not - fallback to the secondary connection.

It does change to the other one when the server is not reachable by the current one. There’s no need to change if the connection works.

Ah I see - so since my secondary connection is always available it just always uses that? Tasker has solved this particular problem but for my use case - i like using my local network at home for uncompressed audio and when i’m not at home that’s when i want to use my reverse proxy & i’ve got it set to deliver transcoded/lower-res audio. Appreciate your help for sure and just thought the feedback might be of use. Cheers.

You are supposed to control transcoding from the app settings not hack something from where the server is accessed from since the app can’t know, it will break caching and many thing.
