You do know you can increase the button and text sizes ?
And just showing some of the new default options or styles that can be downloaded from here so that users who did not test get motivation
Those are just samples, you can create virtually anything.
Thanks to Tolriq I could finally get the NP screen I always wanted. Key features:
Classical recording with my “light” theme:
Non-classical recording with my “dark” theme:
Yes, I have my DPI set real high though so everything is around that scale on my phone
I don’t know… I’m just used to it.
2 skip next 10 ? Or there’s a bug showing the wrong icon ?
My mistake. Thank you for pointing out.
My goal was to achieve a result that can adapt to how much information is present, from clean to information overload.
Having the year behind the album is neat, so is only showing the albumartist when it’s not identical to the artist.
And when there’s a boatload of information to display, up to 2 lines are used (I dislike having moving/scrolling text as I find it distracting).
Admittedly this is pretty bloated and overwhelming but I’ve colorcoded it. Information at the track level is white (title, artist, composer) and album information is grey (album, year, albumartist), alternating between track and album information.
I’ve also moved the cast icon and the lyrics icon from the cover to the bottom bar because I find them easier to reach there and also dislike disturbing the cover art. Now everything I usually use is within the reach of my thumbs.
Great update, @Tolriq! I love it.
Nice, simple and clean. I prefer the waveform progress bar, but not using it definitely saves battery
Actually once extracted the waveform use less battery.
Interesting, it seems to be the extraction part that makes my device run warmer. I’ll probably submit a bug report at some point because it seems to take a lot of background CPU when the screen is off, while still having a delay when I turn the screen back on before switching from the animated progress bar to the wave form. I would think that if it’s using all that CPU in the background there shouldn’t be a delay before the waveform appears.
With extraction enabled, if I’m looking at the CPU frequency, it pegs the high power CPU to full speed for quite some time when a track starts, using battery and making heat. If I disable extraction under the database settings, this seems to alleviate it. Granted, with a large library, that raises the chances of playing a track that hasn’t been played / analyzed previously so I may not be seeing the savings of already generated waveforms that you suggest I’d be seeing.
As a side note, I’m looking through the custom strings wiki post and I don’t see anything related to the queue position. Is there a way to drop the queue icon and “playing” from the queue position on the now playing screen? I’d like to make it just say “1 of 10” if possible rather than “[icon] playing 1 of 10”
There’s no amplitude extraction when screen is off.
Open a feature request ?
And instead of using a custom string, you can just select “Queue position” or “Up next” for String X. But if you want to combine it with other custom stuff, that function needs to be added first (I am sure Tolriq will be happy to do that ).
Minor changes. Not the most colorful album art, but the now playing screen has the same adaptive color as the one I posted earlier. (dropped the track number, enabled waveform progress bar)
