Toggleable Offline mode

Feature description:

Currently offline cached media only plays offline when no Internet connection is available. Since I have downloaded my entire library of music to be cached and need to use the internet on my phone having symfonium stream instead of playing locally is quite annoying as it wastes battery life and data.

A simple toggle to switch to a offline mode that would allow for the playback of the offline cached files would be ideal. Or preferring to play the offline version of the file of available instead of streaming.

Thank you for all your hard work and this amazing app. I really love it.

Problem solved:

Streaming all media always and needing to disable internet access for offline media to play.

Brought benefits:

Battery savings, data savings, peace of mind

I think “Media available offline” in the source filter menu is what you are looking for as per the doc: Globally filter displayed data (Media providers, libraries, only offline media, ...)

The offline files are always priorized unless you transcode the downloads and enable prefer server version on wifi.

What is your actual issue ?

I’m not sure this is the case as media playback will drop out for around 5 seconds when disconnecting from wifi, switching from wifi to data (walking away from the wifi), or switching between wifi access points.

If media does already prioritize playing offline then I guess my issue would be as described. I assumed it was streaming it because of this behavior.

*None of my media gets transcoded

Then open a proper issue with logs.
