The pre-cache is not populated

Issue description:

I’ve uploaded logs

The server is Navidrome, and I configured Symfonium to download 9 (max) songs over wifi, 3 over mobile, and enable the option to add pre-cache to rolling cache. However, looking at the queue and at the “control downloaded files”, I don’t see the files in the queue in the list of downloaded.

You mixed up playback cache and permanent cache, see my comment to your other issue.

Yeah, that is possible.

In that case the UI is confusing - the “control downloaded files” button has no indication that it’s only about permanent cache, and not about other caches. Perhaps improve the UI of it?

Actually, it does:

Yes, but I have enabled the option of adding pre-cache to rolling cache. Therefore it should be in the rolling cache. And it was not in the rolling cache. Does the song needs to be played to be moved from the pre-cache to rolling cache?

Anyway, my trial has ended, so I can’t show my screenshot of it anymore.

Only the x next songs in the currently running queue are pre-cached (playback cache), and with that setting on they should then be added to the rolling cache as well. Not sure if they show up in this view, but someone else can answer that tomorrow…

Yes, I’m talking about the X next songs of the queue. When comparing the queue with the list of songs downloaded, I didn’t see the next song from the queue in the list of files downloaded, even when the number of songs to pre-cache is 9.

You uploaded a single ultra large logs for all your issues covering more than a week of things …

In all cases I can see in the logs that it did worked multiple times.

2024-08-29 11:41:53.355 Verbose/DownloadManager: Moved PlayableMediaItem() from playback cache to rolling cache

It’s present 198 in the logs.

Well, sorry. I’ve been travelling with very poor internet for weeks, and couldn’t split the logs per issue / upload them separately with the description here.

I can see in the logs that it did worked multiple times

The rolling cache was being populated, yes, but not always. Even when I was on wifi for a while.

I could try to upload logs from the app at the moment when I saw this issue, but the upload form was saying that the file will be removed in several days; and I couldn’t open the issue immediately yet.

Well without knowing when the issue occurred for what media there’s nothing I can see. But there’s no known issue with that so your issue is probably something else.
