Tapping Home Page Icon jumps to specific Artist Page

Feature description:

I have a particular band that I love and I have their logo right at the top of the Home Page. It would be really cool if tapping that logo would take me directly to their Artist Page.

Problem solved:

This feature admittedly wouldn’t solve any problem.

Brought benefits:

I know that might seem a little specific but people can be very passionate about their favorite bands. I see this as almost like wearing a sports jersey for your favorite team or player when going to a game. I think other users would use the option if it was available. Also, if it helps, I’d be willing to make a donation to get this implemented.

Other application solutions:

I haven’t seen any other app that has a similar feature.

Additional description and context:

I don’t think any additional details or context are necessary as this would be a pretty straightforward feature.

Nice home page, glad to see some people use the features I put in :stuck_out_tongue:

The problem with such feature is that is opens the door to everything that users might ask for that and it won’t really be maintainable.

Something I had in mind that may work for you was to be able to pin things (like artist or albums, …) as shortcuts so you could use the shortcut section for that, a little like pining playlists as rows.

Not exactly the same but more maintainable and logical in the grand scheme of things.

Thanks for the reply, Tolriq. I just discovered Symfonium recently and I’m having a grand time playing with all the customizations.

As far as your idea to pin items to the home page goes, I think that’s a great idea and I think it would allow me to do exactly what I’m trying to do, assuming that the feature settings were similar to other areas in the app. For example, if I were able to pin an artist to the home page, then go to the settings for it and uncheck “Visible header” and “Change local thumbnail”, and set my transparent band logo PNG file I should presumably end up with something very close to what’s in the screenshot now.

But even if it doesn’t end up quite working that way I’d still love to be able to pin specific artists and albums to the home page. Or even, say, an artist as a section with their discography as the content. That might be an easier feature to add at least for the time being since it wouldn’t really require changing the way the app functions the way that adding a whole new “pinning” feature presumably would.

Either way, as I said, I’m happy to make a donation to support the app’s development. I think it’s important to support smaller devs, especially when requesting new features. If there’s a way to do that please let me know.

You can achieve that by creating a smart album playlist, e.g. with “artist IS Queen”, and then adding that smart playlist as a section to your home screen via the three dots menu of the smart playlist. After that you can arrange and format that section in Settings → Display → Home Page like any other section.

No pinning would be as the shortcuts style probably.

But as Splinter say you can pin playlists so can make some to pin songs or albums already.

Only missing part would be artists.

Thank you, Splinter! Using your smart playlist suggestion I was able to add a row of albums underneath the logo. Hiding the playlist header makes it appear that the logo itself is the header for that section. I’m a happy camper.
