Use another browser, I tested with BrowseHere and it works as it should for anything properly registering the intents.
I’ve just installed the Android TV app and it’s working great for me, thanks for putting in the work to get this released!
I much prefer this over casting via UPnP or chromecast, both of which were slightly unstable for me.
One thing that would greatly improve the QoL for me would be a way to basically use the android app as a remote control for the TV (similar to spotify connect). Being able to select what to play from the phone works much better than the cumbersome navigation with my TV remote, and this would alleviate the issue that my phone needs to be connected to the wifi the entire time or the playback will stop.
I seem to recall reading somewhere that this is/was difficult to achieve because symfonium allows playlists to use multiple media providers, but maybe when connected in this fashion, the phone could just mirror the configuration of the TV? I don’t really need the ability to seamlessly switch playback back and forth between the devices, unidirectional control would already be a substantial upgrade.
Anyway, great work on this app!
I was able to get a Plex login to carry over to my Shield by restoring a backup, but I also get the “don’t have an app for that” when trying to log in on-device. It runs and performs very nicely though otherwise!
found this a week ago and enthralled! hooked up with Jellyfin and have it on my fon and 2tvs.
- it is great that there is a way to reset defaults for each screen. is there an option to reset all defaults on every screen? (probably easiest to just reinstall the app and reconnect Jellyfin)
- is there a way to scan forward and back within a track with the dpad on the tv?
For the interface pages just reload a style.
For the skips not yet, but now that I have a workaround for sliders I can enable it back in now playing.
I’m unable to locate the apk on the playstore when looking for “Symfonium for Android TV”, so I can transfer it to my FireTV.
But it’s probably x64, isn’t it? FireTVs don’t support that, sadly.
Link removed as old version and the reason I do not publish APK.
Please do not spread old APKs from unknown sources, this is not officially supported and will generate support.
Sorry, thought that 'd Help, but you’re right😳
I’ve just installed on my 2019 Shield Pro (Symfonium version 0.9.10), the sound is fantastic through B&W Px7S3 headphones using the “standard” equaliser settings (for Px8). There are a few access bugs using the Nvidia BT remote…
After playing an Album the RC loses access to the right-side panel (sticks in the menu panel) and a mouse must be used to access. Access for the RC does re-connect but randomly, I can’t figure what re-enables it, apart from a Symposium reinstall (drastic).
File access to connected USB drives is very sporadic and often results in a Shield reboot or re-detection of connected drives. This includes backup functions, not possible to any drive except “primary” and even then it’s not reliable.
Will a debug log help you continue to develop this app?
I’ve uploaded the log file, I suffered multiple reboots and drive reinitializing when attempting to change the backup location. The good news is that I was able to upload a backup after losing all of the “music data” (albums, artists etc.), it then successfully re-scanned and displayed the albums.
Nothing I can do for the ATV bugs with file access.
Open a proper issue for the navigation problems.
I have a navigation issue with v0.9.10 on an Nvidia Shield with stock remote. I can access the side menu and scroll up and down. But I can’t go to the right when I select playlists, artists, etc. When I press “right” on the remote I can access the top menu in the upper right but can’t get down to the main area to select an artist or a playlist. When I press “down” it just goes back to the left-side menu.
Hope this helps in the development and if you need me to help out just let me know.
Thanks for the best music player on Android!
There’s no top menu on Android TV profile.
Install a fresh 0.9.10.
Damn that was a quick reply! You are indeed correct. I uninstalled and everything is good to go upon reinstall.
Thanks again for everything!!!
