Seek not working when using UPnP to cast to Fiio SR11

Issue description:

When I cast to the Fiio SR11, seeking within a track does not do anything, either when I click the forward/backward 10 second buttons or when I click within the waveform.

I had an identical issue when casting to the Arylic LP10 with UPnP: Can't move forward/backward within song when streaming to UPnP device

I’m trying the Fiio SR11 since the resolution of that issue was that the problem was caused by the Arylic device, not Symfonium.

I also tried BubbleUPnP today and was able to seek within tracks when using it to cast to the Fiio SR11 using UPnP.

Between those things, it makes me wonder whether Symfonium could be part of the issue after all.

I also happened to get a new phone recently, but it also did not fix the problem. Issue occurs both on my old Samsung Galaxy S10+ and my new Google Pixel 10 Pro XL.

I tried the alternative UPnP settings option and also turning the proxy option for the UPnP device on and off, but the issue persisted.

Also, side note, does anyone know of a network streamer that doesn’t have this issue? If the issue can’t be corrected on Symfonium’s end, I’m willing to return the Arylic and the Fiio and buy something else if there’s a good option. Wiim isn’t preferred for other reasons, but if someone can confirm it doesn’t have the same seeking issue with Symfonium then I can probably deal with the other downsides.

You need to enable logs before connecting to the upnp device so that they contains everything.

If it works with bubble provide bubble logs, they have a lot of workaround for specific upnp issues that will help.

Thank you! I uploaded logs for both Symfonium and BubbleUPnP, connected to both the Arylic LP10 and Fiio SR11, with the logs starting before connecting to the device.

I inadvertantly uploaded the logs without logging in. I think they should be identifiable from the descriptions, but if not I can reupload

So Bubble does not log the command but in all cases you cast flac in Symfonium and m4a in Bubble so this is not really comparable.

Can you provide both logs casting the exact same file?

Yes, I just uploaded logs. In each I reproduce the issue with both a FLAC file and an mp3 file, same two files in each log.

For both apps I used local files on my phone. I downloaded BubbleUPnP just to test this, so I don’t have it set up with my media server, but I can try setting that up too at some point if it’s helpful

Well not much more :frowning: I’ll do an attempt to add a response header even if the device does not ask for it just in case but that’s strange.

Sounds good, thank you for looking into it!

Update for anyone who finds this in the future: I picked up a Wiim Pro and the seek function works just fine.
