Play button endlessly spinning in notification player

Issue description:

The play button in the “Media Output” popup in the notification area spins continually after playback in the app has been stopped for a while.
After resuming play and pausing, the spinning goes away for a little bit but will resume after a while.
This actually results as Google Assistant reporting the currently queued/not playing song in Symfonium when using the “What’s this song” query when trying to find what song is playing in your environment.

Not sure if this is a bug in Symfonium or with OneUI on the S23.

This is a little both, your phone kills Symfonium then restart it just after. (See https://dontkillmyapp.com/)

Then for an unknown reason the media session status stays in buffering while the logs (and video) shows Symfonium internal state is good.

I’ll add a tentative fix in next version to force one more state push.

Sounds good, I had run through dontkillmyapp when I installed the app and redid it just now. All settings are optimized to prevent any killing of Symfonium as far as I can see for Android 14. Probably some new shady background kiling process or something then…

I saw the same effect on my phone. Just for the record and to observe the topic

You should know better to not assume it’s the same and provide logs

Is it possible that a recent change could have removed the Media output in the notification area? Symfonium is also missing in Android Auto. The icon is there but the interface is empty when I click on it.

Not exactly sure how to log this but logs uploaded as martlego missing notification.

No you just disabled media session in the advanced settings. The option with a big warning that it will break AA and other things

Ah yes, I definitely hit that button by mistake when trying to record the debug file and never noticed it… Thanks.
