Multiple media queues is now always enabled, the option is removed and end of current queue unload it. (You can remove the queues shortcut in home settings, and can still reload last queue easily).
Not sure yet, I’m trying to figure out how to use multiple queues, how to get to them, why there’s a pile of empty ones, etc. And eventually maybe disable them if I find no use for them.
every time i connect to my car’s bluetooth, nothing plays unless i choose from the queue or delete it all the queue and select a playlist.
and this is the same reason i cant even auto play any song moment it connects to car bluetooth.
I too would like to disable multiple media queues, it isn’t of any value to me and is an unnecessary complexity. Additionally when I click to play a recent album in my car, it starts playing from the middle of the album (Where I last was when listening to that album).
For me, the only queue there should be is the last/current one so I can pick up where I left off. But if I want to listen to a different album, I want to start from the beginning.
A simple “Disable Multiple Media Queues” option would simplify things for me greatly.
The multiple queues does not add any complexity and is unrelated to your other remarks just hide the queue button and it’s the exact same behavior.
If you play from the recently played part then it resume the album as expected, this is unrelated to multiple queues. But a fix was made in 11.2.0 where wrong resume point where saved.
You can also disable the usage of resume points in the settings if you never want to use them, but again unrelated to the queues.
Sorry! As soon as I posted my “I found the answer” response, the thought occurred to me “I wonder if anyone else is looking for this”
The setting has a bit of an odd name, but can be found here:
Settings → Playback settings → Playback → Min. play time before saving resume point (in seconds)
And set to ‘Never set resume point’. I haven’t verified that this works yet for me on android auto, but it seems promising.
@Tolriq, I appreciate your help guiding us on the right track. But as someone who is in software development I can assure you most users do NOT read documentation, lol. And the users you find here on the forums represent a very small percentage of end users. Most users will either:
Continue to live with annoying behaviours
Stop using application altogether
This isn’t a knock on the app or the level of support you have offered, both have been great! It’s just the nature of the beast. Seeing as there are multiple forum users (again a small percentage of end users) that seemed to be confused with which option they need to change in order to fix a strange behaviour, might be a sign of a less than intuitive design.
That’s just my 2 cents. Again, I appreciate your help today!
And I publish on Play Store since 13 years with the other main application having crossed 7 millions downloads, I start to know how people works
Symfonium is more advanced than most applications, and support a lot more use cases, so yes some defaults are for the vast majority of users and can’t work for 100% of them. But everything is carefully thought from all the feedback from all those years and users.
