How to delete ALL offline files period?

Issue description:

Is there a way to delete all the offline music files (meaning those downloaded with auto offline rules mostly)? In the “manage offline files” section I can: empty rolling cache and cleaup files no longer associated with a server, I don’t see a way to just remove them outright, am I missing something?

Did you try side-scrolling the buttons? “Remove all” might be right of “Empty rolling cache”.

I did after you mentioned it in the chat but nada, those are the only too buttons I see. Navidrome/subsonic is my server.

I just added a screenshot in landscape mode so it’s clear that those two are the only buttons there.

This is normal you have no songs stored in the permanent cache so no option to clear it.

The media downloaded from auto rules are here because they are in auto rules, so a button to remove all would just trigger instantly a new download of all the media. This would not make any sense in 99,99% of the case.

That makes sense, but I’m still left with the same predicament: how can I go about removing the “media downloaded from auto rules” in order to trigger a new download?

You remove the auto rule to let it auto clean the files?
You multi select the media and remove them from cache?

Multiselect where? In the manage offline files I can only remove one by one. You mean filtering for those files manually and selecting them for removal? Or a different way?

And on a different note, I’m confused with the permanent cache since you highlighted it was empty. I have the following settings to permanent cache, why aren’t my favorites showing up as occupying that permanent cache? And also, are those two settings equivalent? It always threw me off that the “same” setting was available in two different places.

In actual track lists.

Yes all from the Auto offline rules is a copy of the same settings that can be in multiple part of the app, the setting below is also a the same as the one you can find in other places.

They are in permanent cache as opposed to rolling cache, so they are not removed because no more space. But they are here from an automatic rules.
As explained anything from an automated rule will always be downloaded again if removed so it’s treated a little differently to help users avoid doing mistakes.

Meaning they are not supposed to show up in permanent cache at all if they come from an auto offline rule? Not sure I got it sorry.

That is correct. In the statistics, “permanent” means not rolling and not auto rule (beware: if you enable full auto caching in the provider settings, that counts as “permanent”, not “auto rule”).

Is there a “select all”? I’m in the Tracks screen trying to select all “available offline” and I can’t see a way to select all the tracks

No, but in select mode you can long-press the first entry and then drag down, the it goes very quickly through the list.

Go to the Albums or Genres screen, the it is less elements to select

I tried doing that pressing the checkmark and wasn’t working. Did it from the title and it worked. And thanks for the tip!

You do know that I explained that you could remove the auto rule to have the media removed? And that since you only have the favorite rule, it was just 1 click?
