Docs showing what ever icon means?

This is simple, a few of these icons are a no brainer , but some I don’t know what they mean and when I click on them something happens but I don’t know what and that in itself is driving me even more crazy because I don’t want to keep doing it to try to figure it out. I’m trying to find this is the wiki/docs but can’t, please anyone point me to a source that tells the meaning of all icons used in Symfonium. Thank you.

Outside of now playing most icons have long press tooltips.

For now playing all icons can be changed and depends on the style, edit the style to see what each icon does.

@Tolriq Long press is not working on my Samsung S22 android phone. That would be nice. I will open style and try that round-about way in figuring it out. I would think there would be an interface getting started tutorial explaining. I’m new to all this. Thanks.

@Tolriq this is frustrating, where do I find the menu called style(s)? I click on the gear cog bottom right and from there I see nothing relating to “style” under all sub menus too. Can you walk me through how to get to styles menu that shows what all the icons mean? Thank you.

I just need to find the documentation legend of every icon, that’s all I need.

A description of the icons can be found:

  • Album page: Settings > Interface >Album page > Hidden buttons
  • Now playing screen: Settings > Interface > Now playing screen > Extended player (Portrait) > Style (bottom of screen): Icon 1-7

Thanks for the response. I must say, I’m trailing behind tech wizardry these days. The best I can sum this up is remember Web 1.0 days back in the early 90’s and how users got so accustomed to conventions. Same with MS Windows, the menus started out at the top and now look where we are at  Same with this super awesome product, it’s packed full of features, so much so I’m really lost at points.

Is this the Hidden buttons you mention? It just has words, not a icon = action which I need. I mainly want to know what the icons circled in red mean.

I can’t seem to find this? Is this the now playing screen? Is the verticle elipse the “Settings” I tried that be did not follow the flow.

Even on the main launch screen at the very top, about the only thing that’s a new user “intuitive” meaning to me is the “Cast” icon. I keep pressing the big blue album button and it just keeps preparing a personal mix for me. Where to me pressing that would show a sortable list of albums I have on my source share on my PC.

I feel really if someone did a screen recording tutorial on their android phone of a stock install of Symfonium talking about what each icon does and diving into just a few detail specs and suggest for more advance reference the wiki/docs here that would be super helpful for me.

Thank you.

The list is in the same order as displayed - though the display of the icons is context sensitive which doesn’t help. I think most are obvious except Personal Mix Mixes, Radio, Shuffle, Shuffled, ... What the random

Go back to the home screen and click on the cog icon, then: Interface > Now playing screen > Extended player (Portrait) > Style (bottom of screen): Icon 1-7
Just like the album page settings it only lists the function, so you might need to investigate further.

They look like: Repeat, Shuffle, Smart Flow, Current queue, Favourite, Lyrics and More actions.

Settings > Interface > Home page > Shortcuts.
Select those you’d like to see and reorder as required (drag on the horizontal lines).

Alternatively you can access your library from the bottom navigation bar.

I had time to play around with the app more last night. I think it’s just mostly learning curve and expectations coming from a larger iPad screen and running MusicStreamer. I think something that’s key with Symfonium vs MusicStreamer is the support of network streaming clients such as my WiiM vs with MusicStreamer not support this, to my knowledge, thus requiring client to client BT conection which is not as good. Boy, this app is deep, almost too much customization. At this point I’m diving into the feature to display lyrics and because I don’t have any of these .lrc or what ever the extension I need to find an automation cloud/web way to update like is done with other metadata such as art covers etc. Thank you.
