I see this is marked as implemented. What was the final implementation?
I love how the “generate thumbnail from songs” work. I am interested in the feature requested here as I won’t need to manually generate (or regenerate) a thumbnail for every playlist and (especially) genre when they are created/updated. Maybe there could be a setting to auto-generate all playlist/genre thumbnails.
I admit that this will not solve any real problem but will purely be cosmetic (for me) as it’s much nicer to see an auto-generated thumbnail than the placeholder. Also, not sure how this would be implemented in an Android app (maybe regenerate when syncing or auto-syncing). So I understand if this has low priority or won’t be implemented but hopefully it will be considered.
As said above, the outcome was that a function call was added to the Symfonium API to generate thumbnails for playlist. This can be called by Tasker or similar tools. See Symfonium API (Allow control from other apps like tasker) for available function calls.
Would it be possible to have the same API functionality for genres? I dont think anyone would like to generate thumbnails for genres one at a time so a full sweep to generate thumbnails for all genres would be ideal.
