Album art remains unchanged even after modifying track metadata

Issue description:

Hello,

I am seeking assistance because I am currently experiencing an issue with the album art of the tracks I am playing.

After modifying some of the metadata (including album art) for certain songs, I noticed that Symfonium updates the other tags (after syncing), but the album art remains unchanged.

The only way I’ve found to work around this is by removing access to my music folder and then rescanning the entire library.

After updating the metadata, I tested some other music player apps, including the stock Samsung Music app, and they all display the most recently updated album art.

I should mention that I am currently using the beta version of the app.

Any feedback is much appreciated!

Noticed this issue too and a workaround I found was to change the album thumbnail directly from the album page in the app.

You can hit “Remove cached images” in every album (three dots) to have the artwork read from the source again. As there is no way to know if the image or only other tags have changed, the image is only read on initial scan and then cached IIRC.

Or do it globally in Settings → Advanced → Clear image cache, but depending on the number of providers you have that might trigger unwanted image downloads.

As Splinter said, this is the way

There’s no efficient way to know that the image changed, this way improve scan perf by a million times and battery usage and network usage for cloud/server.
