The app is categorizing my singles as albums.

I’m using mp3tag as my metadata editor, yes I have the releasetype tag and it kinda works in the artist page but as you can see everywhere else they’re still seen as “albums”

I didn’t realize what page you were trying to look at. The release types are only supposed to be separated on the Artist page. Everywhere else, they will still be treated as Albums. (Might be more fitting to rename the general term to “Releases”, but that’s not my call.)
So if you are correctly seeing “Albums”, “Singles”, “EPs”, etc on the Artist page–your tags are working correctly and there is nothing more to do.
If you want to look at, for example, only “Singles” when on the page in your 2nd screenshot, you can filter by Type (Funnel icon, Type is under Album header) and you will be able to filter by your RELEASETYPE tag data.
Oh ok damn it’s by design, I’ll just get rid of the home tab then, if I could filter THAT I’d be great, I already know about the filter in the albums tab

Yeah it’s probably impossible for the dev to add a new tab to the app for every RELEASETYPE in your files, so they all use “Album” as the generic grouping.
Gotcha, it’s not a big deal I’m just picky
