User Ratings (Album Level) in Album View

Feature description:

  • Option to see “Album Rating” (User Rating at album level) in Album View
  • Option for Album Rating to be sourced from tags similar to the way Track Ratings can be interpreted as user ratings in Symfonium

Problem solved:

I recently realized albums could have ratings too but I can’t see them unless I go in and edit the rating.

I’m also unable to utilize any of my existing tags to populate this rating which means I’d have to manually update all album ratings.

Brought benefits:

This addition could allow users to display & maybe even toggle Album Ratings from the Album Header Directly.

This would also allow for user to utilize tags to populate these ratings automatically vs manually.

Additional description and context:

I think adding this as an option similar to “View Album Quality” would be ideal.

Personally I use my Rating tags like GTA Heat Levels, the more explicit a song is the more stars it has. Seeing how much “Heat” an album has at first glance would be nice for me especially since I already have this data for each album.

I’ve never been good at giving ratings to music because if I like it its in my library & if I don’t it won’t be there. If I really like it its a favorite… so I opted to use them for a more objective stat that takes me 0 thought.

I’m sure other users who utilize ratings for their intended purpose would appreciate the option to see just how much they enjoy each album though.

+1 would like to be able to see ratings on the album page in the new header, as well as below the title of the album in the artist / genre pages. Currently there doesn’t seem to be anywhere that the ratings are displayed (at least using the grid views)

+1 I was looking at the forum just for this idea, it would be nice to have a rating on the album decided by the user or based on the average rating of all the songs of the album. Here an image of the concept.
