Understanding Playback of Dolby Atmos Music on Android

Issue description:

Hi, I just want to confirm my understanding of the Dolby Atmos playback on my Google Pixel 9 Pro.

My Pixel 9 pro supports “Spatial Audio” which allows playback of multi-channel audio using a up-mixer. It specifically only works if the media playing has multi-channel audio.

From what I can tell Symfonium allows correct playback of Dolby Atmos music with this Spatial Audio upmixer. It seems like something in the internal decoder makes this work properly. Basically any other music streaming service does not allow Dolby Atmos playback to google pixel phones.

Is what I am hearing just Symfonium stripping the Dolby Atmos metadata and passing along the 6-channel audio to the “Spatial Audio” up-mixer?

Any insight on how the internal decoder handles Dolby Atmos would be nice.
