Transcoding from FLAC to Opus doesn't seem to work

Issue description

When I set the Mobile and/or WiFi maximum bitrate to 320kbps, it does not seem to transcode my FLAC files. It will show the pause button and it says FLAC to OPUS. It just sits at the beginning of a song and does not play it. I leave it for a minute or two to see if it will play and it doesn’t.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open Synfonium
  2. Click Settings Gear
  3. Click Playback
  4. Click Decoding and transcoding
  5. Change Mobile and/or WiFi maximum bitrate to 320kbps
  6. Play a FLAC song

Additional information

I am not transcoding on the server side of Navidrome.
I can play any and all songs as original for Mobile and WiFi with no issues.

Your server returns error 500, check it’s logs, you probably have not properly installed ffmpeg.

Thank you for the reply. Do I install ffmpeg on the phone or server or both? I searched the forum and couldn’t figure this part out. After checking the server, I do have ffmpeg installed.

I can’t really tell more, you need to read the server logs and see with the server support. I can’t do server side support.
