Toggle Cover & Lyrics UI improvements

Feature description:

  1. Add a long-press to the regular lyrics button to toggle Cover & Lyrics in-place.
  2. Add a way (gesture or button) to leave the lyrics in place of cover mode.
    or
  3. Remove the option to add Toggle Cover & Lyrics as cover corner icons/buttons.

Problem solved:

  1. Having 2 identical looking lyrics buttons seems redundant/confusing to me. It would be a more seamless integration if long-pressing the existing lyrics button acted as the Cover/Lyrics toggle by default while normally pressing it enters the full lyrics mode.
  2. When the lyrics in place of cover mode was entered via a cover corner icon/button I found no way to leave it (display the cover again) as the toggle itself vanishes with the cover. That’s a 1-way street and a bad user experience. I had to also add the toggle in the bottom bar to display the cover again.
  3. Same vein as 2., unless there’s a way to leave the lyrics in place of cover mode, having the toggle as a cover corner button seems like a bad idea to me.

Brought benefits:

  1. Cleaner interface with fewer buttons and a natural extension of existing UI. The lyrics button is well established and currently has nothing configured for a long-press action.
  2. Giving the user a way to exit the lyrics in place of cover mode seems like a good idea to me.
  3. Alternatively, removing the possibility of entering this 1-way street by not allowing to set this toggle as a cover corner icon/button might suffice.

The buttons serves different purpose and long press is not discoverable.

For the rest the button was not supposed to be available for cover buttons / actions will fix.

A compromise could be to add long-press actions to both variants.
Normal lyrics button long-press → toggle cover/lyrics
Toggle cover/lyrics button long-press → enter lyrics mode

That way users could decide which they prefer as the default option (single-press for toggle or to enter the full mode) while not needing to have 2 identical looking lyrics buttons in their interface.

You could add a note in the settings to make this functionality more discoverable but I don’t think there’s harm even if users don’t know it’s there.

There’s no reasons someone would need and use both.
