Hi,
when I add new albums on Jellyfin my symfonium never get new albums by its own, I don’t know if it’s a feature or not or it’s just not working in my case.
While on Jellyfin web, feishin and jellyamp they appears immediately.
I have to force the sync and it take an huge amount of time, like it’s scanning every song on the server for maybe 1h.
Maybe there is just an option somewhere to just get the new ones but I could not find it.
Thanks
Edit: the sync finished after 1h 46min

sync manaeger says:
Artists: 3302, Albums: 3077, Tracks: 14066 (and counting since it’s syncing right now, if I rember well the last time was around 40k tracks.
Is an official answer? Because Jellyfin works quite good with other software and I have my whole library of 3000+ albums there perfectly indexed, moving to another server would not be immediate i guess
thanks to point out that group of performance issues, nonetheless the only applicable here maight be the API performance one since as I’ve already written my Jellyfin works perfectly and scanning and indexing in Jellyfin is fast and I have no issue with for example Jellyfin app, Feishin on my mac.
I add also I use that Jellyfin server only for music. I’ve never mixed music with movies and series.
BTW about downgrading in the Jellyfin documentation I read this: Jellyfin does not have a downgrade mechanism. This is very important to understand; once your Jellyfin instance has been started with a new version, any pending migrations are immediately applied, and your Jellyfin data will no longer work with the old version.
I’d suggest you try out Navidrome while the sync issues are being fixed; as opposed to Jellyfin, Symfonium scans my whole 14k song Navidrome library in less than two minutes.
I’m trying Navidrone and as suggested is way faster.
Unfortunately there are 2 catches:
my wiim app does not see navidrome server. I sometimes use the wiim app from my mac.
navidrome messed up my classical library, while on Jellyfin was almost perfect.
so yeah navidrome is faster but I have to give up on features. I’m searching for solutions for using navidrome without limitations, I rate efficienty and speed quite high so it’s defenitevely a good server.
upmpdcli-docker can be used to proxy subsonic servers making them available to UPnP control points - though I use MinimServer for my UPnP needs.
What classical tagging support does Jellyfin + Symfonium offer? I have a few classical albums, but as far as I know OpenSubsonic (I use Lightweight Music Server) only supports the Composer tag.
i’ve tested upmpdcli-docker but was not able to make it working.
i’ve seen another player “supersonic” has a built in renderer that sees my wiim so i’m able to use it.
I’ve also seen on feishin they are working on a dlna feature.
About classical, well it’s not so simple to organize the library correctly because sometimes you don’t want the composer (Beethoven) but the Director (Toscanini) or the Orchestra or Pianist.
I have multiple versions of the same Composer and Opera played by different Directors/Orchestras.
I have some boxes of one Artist, for example Yo Yo Ma with 90 CD, he’s playing many different Composers with many other Artists.
Anyway Jellyfin was respecting my folders while Navidrome do not so now I have to re-organize everything.
There are also some special collections that are not in Picard, don’t ask me why.
