Symfonium Volume Bug with DAC using USB Exclusive mode

App version

Production

Issue description

I’m currently experiencing an issue with my DAC when using the USB Exclusive Mode. When I play music and lock my device, the volume gets reduced a lot when pausing and resuming audio playback. I have to manually increase it when this happens. This happens around 75% of the time.

This seems to be happening since the last update. The first implementation of the USB Exclusive Mode did not have this issue.

I hope this issue can be resolved soon. If more data or testing is necessary, I can help if wanted.

  4. Stop playback.
  5. Start playback again.

SHirsch Volume Change USB Exclusive Mode

Thank you for the logs. I can see the volume drop on resume: Symfonium reads Android’s media volume as 9/15 and applies it to the KA15, changing its USB volume from 100 to 60. The DAC confirms that change, which explains the large drop.

I still need to establish why Android’s volume became lower. During the pause/resume sequence where this happened, did you touch the phone or DAC volume controls, or only the lock-screen pause/play buttons?

You can also enable the option Disable USB exclusive volume safety in playback / Advanced settings as a test.

Hi Tolriq,

I only touched the the lockscreen play/pause controls. I did not touch the DAC or Phone volume controls.

I also tried the mentioned setting, but it did not fix the issue.

Provide new logs starting from the DAC unplugged to plug and reproducing this.

I currently have troubles reproducing the issue on my end. It works flawlessly right now.
