"Symfonium process is running" and occupying Notification shade etc

Issue description:

Hi there

I have an issue with Symfonium always being shown as a “music player” in eg Notification shade and on the external screen (Moto Razr ultra 60). It shows the “Symfonium process is running” which is a background process I suppose. It doesn’t get killed after I stop playback (I normally use Spotify but sometimes Symfonium to play music from Jellyfin)

Ideally I can either exit the process manually (pressing the back button in Android 2x) or it gets removed after some inactivity period. For example, Spotify doesn’t have this issue and after some time, it just disappears from the notification shade.

Reproduction steps:

Open the app (eg on Moto Razr 60 Ultra)
Play something
Stop playback, exit the app (swipe right, remove from recents, force-stop)

The symfonium process is still running

Media provider:

Jellyfin

Your log is empty so can’t really say what is running

On Android 15+ thanks to Google the app keeps the service active for 10mins after stop to allow resuming sessions via events.

I’ve tried to upload the logs again. For me the process is there for days. Basically my RAZR thinks there is Symfonium running and music app open

I can reboot to get rid of that but Spotify doesn’t have the same issue.

In the logs all the services are properly stopped.

Upload a full bug report https://developer.android.com/studio/debug/bug-report to https://upload.symfonium.app

Since I manually stopped the service, it now correctly stops after few minutes after doing the playback.

I don’t want to waste your time on this, let’s close this and I can create a new ticket if it keeps happening. Thanks for your help!
