Stutter playing flac files

Issue description

While playing certain flac files, the audio stutters for several seconds and is not smooth as for mp3. In the past it was fine also to play flac, but I don’t understand the possible root cause. I’m using an Ubuntu server, with docker and both Jellyfin and Navidrome are running, but the server shows light use of cpu and ram.

Playing flac 16 bit 44.1 khz sample rate

Additional information

Playing also from speakers, does the same effect, it seems to be not related to BT connection. The phone is connected in 4G,5G with 30-60 Mbps bandwidth

Your logs is 2Gb … Please provide a logs only reproducing the issue and give details about the actual song / moment having the issue.

Sorry for uploading the wrong log, and i have just reproduced the issue with a song titled “Daydreaming” played at 13:40 and the new log should be available through the app.

There’s no new log uploaded.

In the meantime I got the “success” message uploading the log in the app. Thanks

So yes in those logs the network is not fast enough and there’s buffer underrun.

I did a test connected to the wifi (200 Mbps fiber connection) which was ok. I see that my actual provider on the phone, has around 20-30 Mbps in download and I wonder if is possible to increase the buffer settings. The songs with stutter are between 30 to 40 Mb size, so I suppose that, such bandwidth should be enough for such file size, with a certain buffer. Please do you have anything you may suggest on the application side, apart testing another internet provider?… :wink: Thank you!

Enable playback cache and force pre cache first song.
