Over the past couple of days, I’ve noticed that I haven’t been able to play some songs — the play button just keeps spinning and the music never starts. I’m currently streaming from Emby to a Denon AVR.
After some testing, I found that the songs play correctly again if I disable the UPnP gapless playback feature. I saw in the description that if there are any issues with this feature, I should contact support and provide logs — so here I am.
I’m fairly certain these songs played fine before without any issues, so I’m not sure if anything has changed recently with that feature. I’ve never had to adjust it in the past.
I forgot to mention that the issue isn’t that the player becomes unresponsive after switching tracks, the problem is that I can’t even start playing the song in the first place. That’s why you’re only seeing a single play without gapless: I’m unable to play that particular song (but also others) at all when the feature is enabled.
Here are more info about this song, let me know if you need more details, or the file itself, and thanks!

I have enabled the cache because I wanted to exclude connectivity issues between the AVR and Emby, I have just tried with the gapless feature enabled/cache disabled and uploaded a new log called “babbodemonionewlog”
There’s no other song queue after so the play command is the same, your receiver says it’s transitioning but does nothing.
I suppose this is a bug in their implementation due to clearing the next item as you only play 1 item. What happen if you start a playlist with that song (so there’s another one after)
I’ve just tried what you suggested, with the gapless feature on the first song plays fine but when it needs to switch, then it won’t work and the second song won’t be played
