Issue description:
Tried to play a file encoded in OPUS, and it fails
Logs:
Upload description: Some Opus files don’t play
Additional information:
Some files play properly, some do not. All files play properly in Navidrome web interface and VLC.
The same files fail in DSub and Tempo for Android.
Reproduction steps:
Run Windows 10.
Rip CD with EAC.
Encode to OPUS with FFMPEG.
Tag with MP3Tag.
Import to Navidrome server.
Attempt to play album in Symfonium.
Despite showing in the app as “OGG”, this file is definitely encoded in Opus.
Media provider:
Subsonic
Screenshots:
I can provide the files if necessary.
If many apps can’t read it, it should be an indicator
You can upload the file to check but it’s invalid.
And you mix container and codec, also check your ffmpeg version.
I thought that Symfonium (correct me if I’m wrong) and those other apps can’t play it because they’re all using exoplayer behind the scenes.
I’ll follow up with my ffmpeg version and command line, but I’m not at my computer right now.
My gut feeling was that it had something to do with the tagging of the files because specifically Findroid the jellyfin audio player not only can’t play the files but also can’t read the artists out of the tag. The rest of the apps read the tag successfully even though they can’t play it.
