Feature description:
Basically a button that prevents a song from being played for a specified amount of time. A new smart filter option can be added to list all the songs that have been snoozed (along with how long before they are ‘re-enabled’). This way, when a user would like to ‘re-enable’ a song before the snooze period has ended, they can do so.
When a playlist containing this song is started, the song should ideally be excluded from the queue too, to respect this snoozing period.
Since we all know that Symfonium is better than Spotify, an extra addition could be a popup dialog when pressing the snooze button that asks how long to snooze a song (for example a text box in which you enter a number of days/weeks).
Problem solved:
Songs that keep repeating due to the continuous playback (or just a lot of playlists that contain those songs) can sometimes be bothering, causing users to not want it to hear for a little while.
Brought benefits:
Giving songs a 1 star rating is a possibility to achieve this too, although you cannot specify a time period which causes the need to manually remove the 1 star rating (or just forgetting about the song). On top of that, it will be mixed with other (so to speak) real 1 star ratings making it quite difficult to know which songs you didn’t want to hear for a while and which are just bad songs.
All in all, it is something that could be achieved through various methods, but the possibility to click just one button and the fact that the songs will be automatically ‘re-enabled’ makes this for a non-existing but still useful feature.
Other application solutions:
This, although Spotify is more restricting in the sense that the snooze period is fixed: Spotify’s new ‘snooze’ button will let you blacklist unwanted songs for a month – and I wish it had existed earlier | TechRadar
