Smyfonium adds additional Genres to Tags

Issue description:

Hello
I am very amazed by this player, I decided to purchase it already.
My only issue is:
I have a music collection locally
Symfonium scanned all files on my android phone, but now in the genre area there are more and additional genre tags like “Acid Jazz” or “Blues Rock” did it use the internet to add these?
My genres follow a certain purpose and cannot be modified like that. I double checked, no other app shows these additional tags no id tag editor shows them too.
How can I delete these tags or, if I do a rescan prevent symfonium from adding additional genres again?
Thank you!

If you had uploaded the mandatory logs I could have tell you where they come from

Unfortunately you decide that you did not need to so I can’t tell more than, no Symfonium does not add or invent genres it’s all from the tag or cue files.

Upload proper logs with a full sync and the problematic genre and I’ll tell you …

Excuse me I didnt know how to do that? I think now I upöoaded the log file. Did I do it correctly?

The wizard explains how, and reminds that lying makes me loose a lot of time for no reasons.

Your logs does not contains a full sync and is empty …

So again please provide proper log: enable logs, sync Sync media provider data then upload the logs.

I have now synced it completely and tried to make another log file.

Unfortunately I tried to delete this library and create a new one now I have everything double, one that cannot play the songs, one that plays the songs, bit I will figure out how to solve this

I think I have uploaded one music file from this album to see wether you find that ID tag Acid jazz?

Thank you for help

The file 1994-The Living Return/03-Ordinary People.flac have TCON with Acid Jazz

thank you so much for your help. What is Tcon and how can i delete it or modify it?

It’s the genre tag in ID3 and well with a proper tag editor as said from the start

kid3, mp3tag, …

I took the file back straight from my phone and let mp3tag and kid3read the tags and cannot find any Acid Jazz :frowning: is it in the hidden settings? if yes how can I enable it?

Edit: I have opened an android Tag editor too and also cannot find Acid Jazz tag description

I don’t know what you do and if you test the proper files, but I’m sorry I can’t provide hand to hand support on fixing your tags.

All I know for sure is that in the logs your provided the file have the tag, and that Symfonium does not fetch tags from internet or anything, everything it displays is from the tags.

Fix the tags, be sure to have the proper files and eventually reinstall Symfonium to cleanup what you could have done there too.

It sounds like you have ID3 tags in your FLAC files.

The “Tag” field in Mp3tag should only contain “FLAC (FLAC)” for FLAC files; if it also contains “ID3” they’ll need to be removed. Strip ID3 tags, leave Vorbis tags on FLAC? - #9 by Florian - Support - Mp3tag Community

you are right I found something like that

Edit: yes exactly, after I made all the Id3 tags disappear, the mysterious genre tags have disappeared too, now my library looks perfectly as desired, thank you so much
