I have Smart Playlists for every source where i get music and for some reason Folder option (manage provider settings Split Album by) is causing that those “Source” Smart Playlists where a track from same album but different TAGS (album) tag is displaying in both playlists.
Example:
I have “We’ll Meet Again” from Vera Lynn tagged as Source: Deezer and I have another file that is the same track but from YouTube Music for audio tests porpoises, so they share same album, cover art, barcode, etc. So the Deezer version is displayed in the YouTube Music Source Smart Playlist and viceversa
Logs:
Upload description: zyntaxyz folder split mixed
Additional information:
At this point you know I’ll always send a clip showing the issue. The screenshots below shows the source tag in my audio files
So let’s say I have 12 tracks from AM and 3 tracks from a Chinese service to complete that album, I have it stored in the same folder
It’s pretty common facing this with soundtrack albums, I have many soundtracks like “Top Gun” case in my library and presents the same behavior as the “We’ll Meet Again” - Vera Lynn example
The FLAC file si from Deezer (obviously) and the M4A file is from YT Music (as I said before, for audio tests), both are displayed in the Deezer “Source” Smart Playlist, so why the YT Music file is displaying there?
(You can see here the only rule is my custom tag Source: Deezer)
Now, as I showed you in my previous clip, changing file location actually splits and displays the songs only in their respective “Source” Smart Playlists as expected
You manage to make it even worse The upload failed but in all case the album tags of an album is the sum of all album tags of all tracks of that album …
So if I understand what you are trying to do, you need to use the smart filter on the track tag not the album tag …
Yes the site was down for a sec but I tried again so you should have the files now, and yes, when I started tagging my files to adapt Symfonium system I considered use track_tags but as you can see tags are not the problem here, file location should not affects/change Smart Playlists behavior right?
Yes I read it that’s why I answered you but this is not the behavior expected from a Track Smart Playlist, anyone would think Symfonium will read all files included in that Smart Playlists as individual/single files tags instead grouping them, so the only difference between Track and Album Smart Playlists is the way is showing the files?
But this is not the part that is annoying me, you haven’t answered yet, why file location is affecting Track Smart Playlists behavior?
YOU ARE USING THE ALBUM TAG FIELD THAT FIELD REFERS TO THE ALBUM TAG AS PER THE NAME …
THE ALBUM TAG EXPOSED IS THE SUM OF ALL ALBUM TAGS FROM THE TRACKS COMPOSING THE ALBUMS. BECAUSE WELL YOU KNOW YOU SELECT IT FROM THE ALBUM PART OF THE SMART FILTER …
IF YOU MOVE THE FILE THEY ARE IN DIFFERENT ALBUMS SO THE ALBUM TAGS ARE DIFFERENT AS THERE’S NOT THE SAME TRACKS IN THE ALBUMS …
My apologies Tolriq I’m not trolling, that wasn’t my intention, even knowing you will not respond after this, I just want to be clear, I don’t remember where i read that Symfonium ignores folder structures otherwise like Plex, tags are priority here, yes I know there’s folder section but it’s not your main focus if I remember correctly, I know many things have changed since I bought Symfonium, actually almost looks like a different (but superior) app, now realizing that file location actually is considered by the app systems for Smart Playlists is kinda annoying
Said that, for the record, i will have to change my folder structure (once again) to adapt Symfonium system (this is not a problem since Musicbee do the job in minutes) to Album (Year) [Barcode] {Source} or maybe move the Source tag from TAGS tag to TRACK_TAGS tag with MP3TAG
Seriously read what I write you keep acting like you fully ignore everything …
If you do not understand ask about what you do not understand stop repeating the same non sense …
You can control how the albums are split, you have control over everything, JUST READ WHAT I WRITE ABOUT ALBUM TAGS BEING RELATED TO ALBUM AND THE SUM OF ALL TRACKS OF THAT ALBUM …
Yes I’m reading all your answers, this is getting confusing you’re saying that I’m not reading and I think you’re not reading my answers (textually you said “repeating non sense”), since words are not working can you show me how have both songs only in their respective smart playlists but in the same album on album page?
Remember: I said before I can solve this moving that tag to TRACKS_TAG to use that as Smart Playlist rule instead TAGS, or, adding {Source} to my folder structure, there’s a third way, adding extra “is not” rules to remove unwanted sources but since there’s many sources, playlists, custom tags, etc. This is no the best approach
You’re repeating that I have control over everything and how split albums, and how album tags works “ALBUM TAGS BEING RELATED TO ALBUM AND THE SUM OF ALL TRACKS OF THAT ALBUM …” this means that if one of all tracks from the album is tagged as “Deezer” the sum will result as if the rest of them had been tagged as “Deezer” even if not, yes I understand that, actually I’m using this to add a cover to a fake song on box sets to display the album cover and have every disc with their own album covers. I have Split Album by: Folder, Album Artist and Album Version.
Again, my apologies Tolriq Please show me how unleash Symfonium’s power
It seems that no you still have not understood that else you would understand what happens and what I’m saying.
YOU FU…ING CAN’T IF YOU USE ALBUM VALUES TO FILTER THE TRACK SINCE THE ALBUM VALUES ARE THE SAME FOR ALL THE TRACK OF THE ALBUM SINCE THEY ARE IN THE SAME ALBUM …
Seriously not fun, have way better things to do, so really out.
