Smart Filters (Addition of Lyrics "Filter Target")

Feature description:

I think it would be useful to have a filter target using the lyrics field allowing the user to filter tracks based on what lyrics may be present.

Problem solved:

More of just an added feature

Brought benefits:

Brings forth another way for users to filter their music.

Other application solutions:

Additional description and context:

The lyrics of a track are a very quick way to denote the content or message of any given track. As such they can be used to filter songs.

I’m currently planning on adding some cusotm values to my lyrics. Words I’d like to define & references I’ve noted in the song.

Though my senario is specific I think anyone can use this filter to grab songs that have certain keywords or phrases in them.

In my testing senario my lyrics have words or phrases in brackets shown in screenshot 1 [Akademiks]¹

At the end of the lyrics I plan to have a small description or explanation for those words & phrases in brackets as shown in screenshot 2 (idea is still in its rough stages)

These words & phrases are the things I’d use a lyrics filter on but again anyone can set the filter to pull any specific words or phrases maybe even artists as lyrics from genius for example feature headings above let’s say the chorus

[Chorus: Ariana Grande & Michael Jackson]

This would indicate that the Two are singing at the same time or maybe going back & forth line per line.

I’m sure everyone’s lyric fields may have all sorts of different info that they could utilize to filter their library, the sky is the limit here.

For simple context Screenshot 3 is the filter targets currently available.

While we are here I also think being able to filter by the Disc Title / Subtitle could prove useful (just throwing that out there)

Duplicate, the app does not have always the lyrics and in all cases have them filtered so no unknown tags or whatever so this is not possible.

Well…that is TRAGIC Indeed

Is this feasible for Disc Subtitles / Titles?

Nope this is stored in a way that can’t really be queried.

You can use the MOOD tag, and in the future I’ll probably add song tags too .

I personally use the Genre tag for this case:
Genre: Has Lryics
But song mood also works

Looking forward to see song tags support soon

I have alot of custom tags that im juggling the placement of.

Song tags will be a very welcome addition I have “Content” & “Source” tags as well as Samples & Interpolations that need a home.

My genre field is currently hosting a number of “sub genres” so i dont want to cram too much more info there.

The new Tag(s) support added in the last update definitely gave me a bit more space but its always nice to have tags i can work with that are @ track level
