Smart Fades: new track briefly plays at full volume before fading in

Issue description

Smart Fade does not work correctly when switching songs. When the current song ends and the next song starts, the new song initially starts playing at its normal volume instead of fading in smoothly. It then suddenly performs the fade, causing an audible volume jump and an unnatural transition.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open Symfonium and play a song.
  2. Enable Smart Fade for track transitions.
  3. Let the current song reach the end or skip to the next song.
  4. Observe the beginning of the next song.
  5. The next song starts at its normal volume and then performs the fade, instead of fading in smoothly from the beginning.

Your log is empty … You need to provide a lot reproducing the issue.

Okay, I tried the beta version and it’s fixed now. However, some songs have a very abrupt transition, almost as if it’s being forced, while others transition normally.

I guess I’m forced to once again ask for the logs reproducing and the related details ?

I’ve uploaded it now. I’m not sure if it uploaded correctly, with the same name as before: “Kigo”.

The logs does not reproduce the issue so it’s hard to tell anything :wink:

All I see is that you have the option mix only enabled so there’s no fade involved at all as the description of that settings says.
