shuffle --> continue album from this track

Feature description:

I’m not certain what the UI would be for this feature, I guess it could be an action button… but I would really appreciate being able to continue an album from a track in a shuffle queue. Say, for example, I get dropped onto a great track out of the blue, and would like to carry on the album from that point. This interaction would clear the current queue and add the remainder of the current album tracks to the queue.

Problem solved:

Not a problem per se, just a nice way to utilise shuffle and give it slightly extra functionality.

Brought benefits:

I can’t be the only person that has ever had this circumstance appear and wish for this functionality.

Although it’s also entirely possible that this is a 100% me thing

Agreed that this would be a lovely feature. I also play like this sometimes

Yeah, you are certainly not alone as this is how I listen to my collection most of the time.

Perhaps there would be no need for a new UI if the two shuffle buttons that we have were doing the same thing instead of the playlist/album level button shuffling only algorithmically and the now playing view button shuffling randomly. If the behaviour was the same then the flow would be to click on the playlist shuffle button → listen to shuffled tracks → get dropped on a great track → press the shuffle button in the now playing view (disabling the shuffle for this queue) → listen the rest of the playlist in the original order. However with the current behaviour pressing the shuffle button the the now playing view will just shuffle already shuffled playlist.

Fwiw, the workaround I’m using now is to never shuffle from the playlist options (you can even hide the button in the settings) and instead play it in the correct order and then enable shuffling from the now playing view. It’s a bit more work and the results aren’t exactly ideal as with large playlists it will shuffle them in the order they appear in the playlist, so to say. So in a big playlist that I have where tracks are ordered by a display artist if I try playing the playlist like I’ve described I’ll be hearing only the artists whose names start with A or B for the first 30 minutes then C and D and so on. However, this works fine if you select a track in the middle of the playlist.
