Shrink Search Bar (filters / settings)

Feature description:

I think it would be nice if the search bar filters (checkboxes) could be tucked into a drop down or shrunken in the UI.

Problem solved:

I’m sure the experience is a bit different from device to device but on my phone when I am searching for tracks the search bar & my keyboard eat up so much screen real estate that I can barely see the search results as I type.

Brought benefits:

  1. The ability to see more results even as you are typing.
  2. Nesting the search filters may prove useful to those who do not often change their search parameters

Other application solutions:

oto music player has a horizontal bar of search parameters that you can scroll through from left to right, this confines the search parameters to one line of text while keeping all search parameters visible, at reach

Additional description and context:

Screenshot 1 is the current view when searching in symfonium
Screenshot 2 is the view when searching with the “horizontal parameters” of oto

I also think a dropdown denoted by a small arrow or triangle on the search bar that opens to show the current search parameters would suffice. This way the search filters are only visible when needed.

This is Symfonium if you scroll a little  Even more space.

I agree with this! The filters take up a bit too much space when all I’m looking to do is look up a song. It would be great if they were tucked away in a separate window/button, and you could bring it up if you need to, or to update the default. 98% of the time, though, I don’t need all those filters.
