Shareable Lyric Cards

Feature description:

Essentially, I think it would be great to have a feature where you can generate a lyric card image for sharing on social media similar to what you can do with Spotify or Genius.

Problem solved:

One of the problems I find with, not just Symfonium, but most local music players is that they replicate a lot of standard streaming features but ignore any of the community focused features like stats, sharing, and similar. While not all of these features are viable for an offline app, I think generating lyric cards when you want to share lyrics helps solve the problem of not being able to share music you are passionate about.

Brought benefits:

An important part of music for many people is the social aspect. Sharing meaningful, funny, or otherwise noteable lyrics without having to type them out in full or look them up + find the section of the song + copy/paste them goes a long way to helping users socialise about the music they listen to.

Other application solutions:

On Spotify, with lyrics up, you can hit share and select a string of lyrics that will then be placed in a card along with the song artwork that can be shared to stories or as an image on social apps like Discord and WhatsApp. Something like this would be amazing. All procedural based on selected lyrics and the metadata of the track.

You need to remember that it’s a one man team here  Not a multi million dollar company with hundreds of devs

There’s a lot more important things to do that those features that are built to bring people to Spotify and consors.

Of course, but are things like this not options for further down the line?

The line is busy for at least a couple of years if there’s enough users paying

totally fair. Well I hope I live to see the day :stuck_out_tongue:

I love the app by the way, will definitely donate to the project some more when I’m in a better place financially

Is there anywhere that you have a feature roadmap published? Would be nice to see the features you are intending to implement so I can make sure my suggestions are relevant.

There’s none and the targets can change.
