Seeking past 24 hours in long M4B audiobook wraps to beginning of duration

App version

Issue description

When seeking or selecting a chapter on an audiobook (.m4b) file that has a start time past 1:00:00:00, the playback ignores the day part of the time stamp. For example, a playtime of 1:03:04:48 (i.e. 27 hours, 4 minutes, and 48 seconds) will play at the 00:03:04:48 timestamp. When letting the playback tick over the 1 day mark during playback (seeking to 00:23:59:59), everything works as intended.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Load up a file that is over 24 hours long
  2. Select a chapter which starts past the 24 hour mark.

Additional information

I am streaming the audiobook from a local Jellyfin server, and narrowed down the issue to being caused by the app. The file has the proper chapters markers and playback occurs where it should when using jellyfin directly and checking the file in VLC.

Your logs show the full seek position reaching Jellyfin, but the chapter data in its returned transcoded stream points to a position exactly one day earlier. This points to Jellyfin’s transcoding path.

Could you upload Jellyfin’s FFmpeg transcoding log for one seek past 24 hours to https://upload.symfonium.app? Add a description of the problem and the time of the seek so I can identify it, then reply here with the upload description and your Jellyfin server version.
