Search within playlist queues songs from entire library

Issue description:

When I search for a song within a playlist and play it, subsequent songs are queued from the entire library instead of from within the same playlist.

Reproduction steps:

  1. Search within playlist for a track
  2. Play the track
  3. Check queue – is populated by songs pulled from entire library, not from within the playlist

Media provider:

Subsonic

You enabled smart queue with auto queuing based on genre and it does exactly what you asked for.

See the queued items having a special icon to see that they are smart queue / smart flow added.

Thanks for your quick response.

I see how smart queue was causing the queue to pull from the entire library due to my settings. I do want smart queue enabled for example when an album finishes.

I think the issue is: when you search a song in a playlist and play it, it only queues the remaining search results, after which Smart Queue will activate (as expected). My expected functionality would be for the entire remaining playlist to be queued, instead of just the remaining search results.

I have attached a couple of screenshots to illustrate what I mean, hopefully I have explained my thoughts properly.

This is normal it’s not a search, it’s a filter as the empty text says.

Fair enough. If this is the intended functionality for the filter, could there be a setting so that the user could choose whether only the filter results or the entire playlist is queued in this situation? I understand if this would be too niche or technically difficult to implement.

EDIT: When using Spotify app’s ‘find in playlist’ search/filter, the entire playlist is queued after playing a search result. Maybe this should be the default behaviour in Symfonium if possible?

You can open a feature request for an option but won’t be default, nearly all in Symfonium is based on what you do is related to what you see.
