When I search artists/tracks/albums, the sort artist/track/album should be used to populate the search. For example if i search kikuo, it should match tracks with the sortartist “kikuo”, even tho the artist is “きくお”.

Makes it significantly easier, and in some cases possible at all, to search for music tagged in non-english languages. Also allows users to add hidden keywords they want to be matched in search

Feishin (desktop client) has this feature as described, and I seriously miss it on symfonium!
As you can see, searching “petora” correctly finds the track. Searching “Ruka” also brings up the artist. (Searching “ame” or “Amagai” will have no results.)
Hence in your example, it should in fact already find きくお if your tracks are tagged as such and you search “kikuo”. For example, you can search “tekunaro” and the first track in that screenshot should show up.
This is a neat feature! it seems to work for me with tracks but not artists. Not sure what’s up with that, I have everything selected in the search filter. Either way, this does not cover all cases. For example 이달의 소녀 is romanized as “idalui sonyeo” (well. it’s one of the ways you can romanize that, which is another problem with relying on romanization), but the sort name is “Loona”. I also have music tagged in Greek and Amharic, neither of which I could expect autoromanization support for.
