Scroll inertia issue on Android 11 - OneUI 3.1

Issue description

Hi,
With my brand new Galaxy A20e, running Android 11 and OnUI 3.1 (well it’s not the most modern phone, but it’s still brand new), I can only scroll symfonium with “little steps” that ignores gesture intensity, it’s not smooth at all. It doesn’t feel lagging neither, it just scroll in little steps with zero smoothness.
If I use a digital cursor, which allow to scroll the phone using buttons instead of fingers, it scrolls smoothly, like a normal behavior. So it’s not hardware.
Furthermore, most of my apps scrolls normally. Not all though, this issue arise on others app. So I guess it’s related to the way gestures are implemented individually on each apps, or the way the app UI is coded (with layers or not, I don’t know, I’ve never code Android app)

Below is a screen record where I switch between Symfonium with this scrolling behavior step by step, and then Poweramp, which scrolls smoothly normally. With one big gesture on poweramp, I can go to the end of a very long album lists. On symfonium, it takes like ten gestures.

Thanks for looking into that.
Have a great day

Probably a device bug with Compose as you said it happens on other apps. Not much I can do until Google fixes that. Try the beta builds.

What is Compose? It’s an UI framework, used on some apps? Which could explain why some have the issue and not all apps?
