Feature description:

Hello,

Like I said before the Tasker worked perfectly.
I have an idea though. Instead of use PCloud API to detect a change, is it possible maybe to implement a scheduled sync as a build in feature? In that way you are independent of which kind of media server you are using.

Problem solved:

Using an external app to sync media and use manual sync every day.

Brought benefits:

When you schedule a sync, every change of the media server is automatically synced in a given timeline

Duplicate, use the API and the proper tools to automate things, Automate app is free.

There’s hundreds of needs to automate syncs, a specialized app will always do that better.

I understand that are many needs and ways to automate things, but my goal is only schedule once a day the sync.
I am using Tasker to perform that. I only think it is over engineered for a simple function. I only mentioned if there was a built in function, you make it “independent” of which media the source is.
Do you see it as realistic to implement a, in my point of view, simple function?

To be fair there is the auto-sync feature for media providers.

Personally I find the API via macrodroid / tasker to be better because (among other things) you can set it up to sync your library & update the thumbnails of genres & Playlist at once.

While it may not be super simple it is very versatile & quite powerful. I have an automation which runs specifically when my phone is unplugged from a PC that was connected for file transfer.

So anytime I’ve copied over new tracks & unplug it syncs & updates my thumbnails without my intervention.

I can also trigger this sync from my PC via a webhook, in that case I’d need only open a bookmarked web link & boom, sync begins.

Because you’ve already gotten it setup with tasker id suggest finding creative ways to trigger that sync. At least that way it sort of simplifies the process for you.

My sync can be triggered by:

  1. Automatically (App Scans for file / folder changes)
  2. Webhook (Browser Bookmark)
  3. Unplugging from PC
  4. Contact with NFC tag
  5. Manual sync in synfonium / macrodroid
