"Role" filter for artists

Feature description:

When browsing composers (Library > Composers directly), it would be excellent to be able to filter the results to just classical music.

Problem solved:

Most of the time when I want to browse by composer, I’m looking for a classical piece. Currently the only filters available are favorites and “small artists.” Smart filters cannot be used here, it seems. (Navidrome with the refactor update).

Brought benefits:

Going to make it much easier to find that Beethoven piece I was looking for.

Implementing smart filters in the composers view is probably the “correct” solution rather than just adding a single, hard-coded, genre filter

If you browse your library from “All artists” instead of composers you can filter by genre to grab only classical tracks

You can also filter by artist “Type” Artist Tags & Style which could also help you narrow the search to just Classical tracks.

The filters available from this view are not as vast but coud help you even if only for the time being.

A more logical solution is to add a role filter to the artist smart filters :wink:
