Resume playlist not updating

Issue description

I’m playing a playlist and I’ll stop it.
I’ll click resume playlist and it will always start on the same song.
Do resumes for playlist get overwritten so only one exist?
If the user doesn’t resume, will the old resume be replaced when the playlist of played fresh instead of resumed?

Steps to reproduce

Play a playlist.
Stop the playlist.
Play other things.
Go back to playlist and click resume.

Additional information

I don’t know if there’s another setting that I must have disabled that is preventing it from updating the playlist position.

I think I solved it.

It is remembering all the songs that are partially played and skipped.

Resume will go back to complete all the partially played songs. If I let all the songs fully play, the resume function will capture the last song partially played.

If I skip any song that is partially played. The resume button will go back to that song.

Also, any song that is partially played outside the playlist still counts if the song also belongs to that playlist.

Oh, if I have a playlist qued and I decided to leave the playlist and just start playing a random song it will mess with the resume because the song is also in the playlist. The app doesn’t know I’m playing a new que. It thinks I’m still inside the current que.

This means all playlist resumes would break if people play any song that belongs to that playlist.

Use media queues ?

For the strange post about skips did you enable “Reduce last played updates”” ?

I did have “reduce update” enabled. Just turned it off and solved my original issue. Resume will now start where I left off.

Question: resume button only works correctly if the user does not play anything belonging to the playlist?

I have a playlist I listen to in the car. By the end of the day. The queue list fills with lots of general “playlist” titles each time I make a radio, playlist, or select random plays. Android auto also doesn’t have a media queue list.

Shouldn’t resume play either be separate from other queues playing the same songs and only monitor the playlist queue it belongs to?
