Record Label Delimiters not working for new albums

Issue description:

I’m using “;” & "; " as delimiters for artists & genres but for some reason my newly tagged files are not having their record label tags separated.

Example:
“RBC Records; BMG; Beerus Limited; The Online Takeover; Warner Music UK; Major Tom’s Records; Asylum Records”

Used to show up as multiple separate labels in album view. On new tracks I’m noticing they are Recognized as one Record Label.

Additional information:

• Screenshot 1 is of an album I tagged months ago, no problem

Label = “RBC Records; BMG; Beerus Limited; The Online Takeover; Warner Music UK; Major Tom’s Records; Asylum Records”

• Screenshot 2 is an album I just tagged
Label = “Columbia; Legacy”

• Screenshot 3 is an album I tagged months ago
Label = “Capitol Records; Universal Music Group; Electric Feel”

From my perspective I’ve got 3 albums tagged in the same manner but being treated differently. Not sure why.

PS: Each Track of my albums have the exact same Label Tag

Reproduction steps:

What’s interesting is some of my old files have no issues

I haven’t changed anything about the way I tag my files.

I will say both Symfonium & MP3tag have been updated recently

I need the actual files to reproduce

Description:
[MISTA_J_] TEST FILES | Labels

Added a few from each album

Hum album label was never actually split by anything except ", " at display time.

The previous albums probably had ", " as separator and they are in the tag cache.

And now it’s ; and it’s not split.

Should I swap them back, I changed my artist delimiters from

", " and " & " to "; "

basically getting rid of commas and the ampersand as delimiters in my artist field

So i figured if artist delimiters & genre delimiters are used to separate fields I should swap my Label delimiters as well. It worked fine at first so I figured all was well.

If commas are the only way to separate Labels I can just go back to using commas. I thought commas were separating my Labels purely because I was using them as delimiters for Artists.

Well yes you should or use proper multi valued fields. There’s no album label split in the settings

Can do, just to confirm

LABEL
is only split by ", "

The following are split using genre delimiters
LANGUAGE
MOOD
STYLE
RELEASECOUNTRY
RELEASETYPE
TRACK_TAGS
TAGS / ALBUM_TAGS
ARTISTS_TAGS
ALBUM_ARTISTS_TAGS
COMPOSER_TAGS

Then all the artist fields are split by artist delimiters
ARTIST
ALBUMARTIST
COMPOSER

Are there any other fields for local devices that follow the behavior or Labels? not a difficult fix in my library usually but It could save me time one day.

Well when you change things and things no more works it’s usually because you changed things and it also would have been nice to say so so that I save time yesterday

This is a little more complicated than that actually, there’s no split on label at all since usually an actual release is only released by 1 label.

The fact that you see them split and that it works is just luck as I use the same logic at display query time.

I’m not sure I’ll add support for split as there’s no specific split setting for that one and it could split unwanted cases.

Fair that’s on me I made that change a couple weeks go & it seemed to work fine . So i figured I was right to assume splits were using my artist / genre delimiters. That is (as um now learning) not the case.

I don’t often go searching for Record Labels to add to my tags, they seem to always come with at least a couple. When albums have more featured artists there’s usually more from what I’ve seen in downloaded tracks. It works the way its setup now though so i dont think it needs a specified split setting per say but i have seen a few tags like"

Motown Records, LLC

I just remove the (, LLC) though
