Preamp is sometimes not applied

Issue description:

Hi

I am using the preamp with +6db to counteract Replaygain 2.0 being lower than literally everything else that plays from my phone.

Sometimes the preamp will not be applied, and, it can be shown by toggling it. After toggling it back on there is a noticeable leap in volume.

I have demonstrated the procedure in the logs.

Enable the restart player on device change.

It is enabled. Maybe I should try disabling it to see if it helps.

Unfortunately its still happening even with it toggled on or off

Try to use volume boost then instead of the Dynamic EQ

Those are OS level libraries I don’t really control.

Ok thanks I will try that and report back. :slightly_smiling_face:

I tried the volume boost. I find it really distorts the sound when listening on certain setups, I listen on headphones and in my car mainly. In the car I find the EQ gets very muddled when using the volume boost compared to the Preamp.

I know you dont have much control over this. I am also totally lost on what is causing the preamp to disable upon change. I have disable all system settings that might interfere (Dolby Atmos, Volume normalization on system level etc)

I installed Poweramp Equalizer and I have consistent preamp now.

Is there anything you can rework on Sysmfonium side to get the same result? I know you said that there is not much control over it, but, poweramp does work. I know its a dedicated app to do 1 thing so redoing the processing engine of symfonium is mabye out of the reality scope. I still want to ask though.

I can do many things;) The question is always does it worth it on the long-run.
