Plex has officially stated they are dropping their Plex skills for Amazon Alexa devices. It was extremely buggy and didn’t seem to ever get updates. It allowed voice commands like “Alexa ask Plex to play music by ” and the Amazon device that was listening would play music from a Plex server.
Because Symfonium can properly interface and use the APIs for Plex, would it be possible to have a symfonium skill for Amazon devices that talks to a Plex server and sends output back to that Amazon device? Definitely not my area, but this seems different than casting.
Problem solved
Replacing the Plex skill which will stop working on June 15 2026.
