Plex Server Sync - only appears on wifi

Issue description:

I was setting up this yesterday (before I choose to pay for the service) and this morning went to my playlist and it was not there. I had it set up, and when I tried to import it again it said it was a duplicate (but was not in the list).

When I got home, on the wifi all the music is there. Turn off wifi and it all disappears. The plex server seems to be connected OK and when I search for the playlist not on the wifi they appear so it is connecting to the server.

I looked yesterday at not having to download everything and having a cache for when I hit play and it downloads a small %, but just was a little shocked it was missing.
I checked the Plex connection and the server is added with the external IP and not a local one.

(I notice it is actually all music, when not on wifi it is all empty)

So, a little addition, on the wifi I added the playlist to the rolling cache (I thought I had done that yesterday but apparently not). I started to download the 3gb I had set the cache to.

I turned off the wifi and it is saying it can’t connect to my Plex server. (Which I am guessing is the issue, but I am unsure as to why it can’t as I have always been able to use it with PlexAmp on the go or to watch my videos when not at home or on the wifi).

The message text everywhere says that you need to check your filters.

Home page top left icon is filled so you have a filter there that you need to remove.

So I have done that (The filter was not available offline).
However, the bigger problem still stands that when I am not on Wifi the connection to the Plex server is cut so even though I am “online” with phone data, it was hiding everything as it saw it as offline.

I have sent logs with switching between wifi and mobile data.

I tried readding Plex when not on wifi (which it was able to do and find the server) but then the music was not available still.

The server is always connected via the public IP and never set as offline in those logs.

So, what might the reason be that Plex is offline when not on the WiFi?

I can only see what’s in the logs.

What provider settings do you have do you have multiple ones, provide logs with only one provider connected then cutting wifi then when it’s offline upload the logs and show what the apps says about the provider being offline.

I only have one provider (One plex server).

I have just turned off my Plex server and tried to sync to it and then uploaded the logs

I can’t find any new logs.

But what do you mean by tuning plex off ?

I turned my plex server off and tried to sync Symfonium again to get the details you were talking about?

Tried again to see if you see the new logs.

I ask you to turn off wifi not plex. If you turn off plex it will be offline of course.

Anyway as said there’s no logs on the log server. Try again and be sure that your mobile internet actually works and that it’s not the root issue.

So while on mobile data, I tried to sync the playlist and it said I had to be connected to wifi or change it in settings (the message disappeared quite quickly).

I have uploaded the logs again of trying this without the wifi on (but the logs sent while connected to mobile data).

It has however started to play the music when on mobile data without it being cached

So everything worked in that log?

There’s no network status change in the logs and no connection issue.

Can you please take a step back and better explain your issue ? Or have you found that like you like enabled the wifi only option on the provider and have now removed it as maybe your edit suggest ?

So, it appears (for now) that on my mobile data it appears to work (where it wasn’t before).

I was confused about the caching but after rereading your posts and replies, it is not the rolling cache of the playlist I want (as that just keeps adding and removing items until it gets to the end of the playlist), what I have set is the playback cache so when I start the playlist it buffers 4gb of songs in case I lose connection.

Just done it again and it took a while this time to buffer the first song (logs sent because I thought it was failing) but it has started playing the song as I was about to hit send.

Thanks for you patience! (I have just bought the full app licence, thanks for your quick replies and helpful guidance).
