Play Count not updating

Issue description:

Hi

Anyone else experiencing issues with the play count on songs not updating?

Its intermittent and I don’t think its related to the files themselves as other apps update the count fine.

Hi

I am experiencing intermittent play count issues with the latest beta release. Some songs play count attribute is being updated while others are not.

I often need to restart the app to see the play count updates but this doesn’t work for all songs

There’s no logs uploaded.

Logs uploaded via the app using ‘Share logs with support’.

ID used was ‘domoore’

Check don’t kill my app it seems the os kills the app.

Update to beta 5 too.

Updated to beta 5 and uploaded new file ‘domoore2’.

Can you please describe what you are doing properly and what you think the app is not doing correctly?

I see app kills, pausing and many things so it’s hard to understand.

All I’m doing is adding songs to the play queue and playing them. I then check the play count either via the play queue ( I added it as a column ) or selecting the details option in the context menu.

The pausing is probably me pausing the song and restarting the app. I do this when the play count is not updated

There’s no play count visible in the Play queue.

What song have you played fully in those logs and have not the play count updated ?

The 1 here is what I’m referring to as the count in the play queue.

So that is not updated so it’s normal it does not change.

Do you seek or skip or do anything special?

From my experience it does change, maybe not immediately but definitely if I close the app and then open it again - that’s why you see the pausing and app closing.

Does it not reflect the play count?

Yes if the app is killed and the data reloaded it’s updated, but it’s not updated during playback.

So is this the only issue ? (That is not as it’s normal)

No the issue is that it’s not updating at all for those songs (other songs it is) even after reopening the app.

Gonna try it on another phone as well to see if I can replicate the issue.

But as asked do you seek or do anything special?

Does it happens always for the same first song or last song or randomly?

The more details the best, there was no change related to that is this beta so his is strange.

No seeking or anything special. Based on testing , it seems to be specific set of mp3 files. I tested another app and the play count is OK.

I’ll check on another phone too. Its not a big deal either as its generally working
