Pcloud sync crashes before finishing

Issue description:

This is using the pcloud option not any provider
Pcloud sync crashes before it finishes about 2/3rds of the way through

Logs:

Upload description: One-Plus-10-debug.log & Samsung-tablet-debug.log

Additional information:

Size of library is 3.15 TB
90,000 tracks
The exact same songs scan and play fine using Emby and/or Subsonic

Reproduction steps:

This happens on both a oneplus 10 phone and a samsung tablet. Battery optimisation disabled, allow to run in the background and screen set to always be on.

Media provider:

Any provider

You should not compare a phone power with the server that run Emby / Subsonic

Anyway I do not see any crash in the logs. What are you calling a crash ?

The scanning starts “Scanning files tags” up and up. I can view the progress in the source filter. It gets so far then the source filter closes. A red exclamation mark is next to the sync button and if I click it says (on the samsung tablet for example)
“Last sync 20/11/08:13 (13 min 31 sec)
Unsuccessful, check logs if frequent”

I have tried it a few times now on both the phone and the tablet.

Ok so no crash, just a scan issue.

It should not cause this but can you upload

2024-11-20 08:05:47.405 Error TagParserWorker No extracted tags for /Music/Classical Music/Chamber Music/Anne-Sophie Mutter/Schubert- Forellenquintett - Trout Quintet/07 Franz Schubert arr. Mischa Elman - Ständchen “Leise flehen meine Lieder”, D 957_4.flac (audio/flac - flac)

to https://upload.symfonium.app and test to remove that folder from pCloud scanned directory ?

Ok, thats uploaded and ive started the scan again on both devices. If it works it’ll be a while till its done.

Its in a loop now. It gets to about 73,000 tracks. Then starts scanning (more quickly) and then restarts again at about 73,000. Last time it did this in logs was about 18:32.

I’ve uploaded a file pcloud-debug.log
Thanks

Ok so now there’s a crash due to OOM.

This is strange because usually the limit is more around 100K songs.

Do you have a lot of lyrics embedded or as .lrc ?

No embed lyrics that i know of or lrc.l, there might be an odd few.
Theres a lot of tags in each file, each genre, album artist and mood are seperate rather than using a separator if that makes a difference.

Ok so those files are actually not valid and won’t play, I’ve added a workaround so the scanner will scan then.

And I’ve tried to reduce memory usage of the scanner to try to return the initial 90K+ songs support.

Hopefully this will be enough, will be hard to do more.

Ok thanks. Presumably I’m to try again after the next symfonium update?

Anyway after what you said about the lyrics, I decided to do ‘metaflac --remove-tag=“LYRICS” **/*.flac’ thinking it would only modify the files with lyrics embedded in the tags. Its’s updated the modification time on all 90000 files so I’m about 24 hours in to a roughly 96 hour sync with pcloud (if my isp doesn’t decide to throttle me) haha

Yes you’ll need to retry with next version.

That works now.
It’s great to have access to my music with all the features of symfonium, without being dependent on my hardware/isp.
Thanks
