Pause State not retained on Track Change gesture

Feature description:

This one feels like a bug but technically is not, so I am framing it as a feature request. Note that it is immediately apparent when testing the skip count bug in my previous post.

When a user sees the option ‘Keep paused state on skips’ one might assume that this applies to ALL skips. However this option ONLY applies to skipping via buttons and not gestures. Admittedly, that is exactly what the longer description states: “…when paused and pressing previous or next buttons”.

I would like to request that this setting also apply to the ‘Change track’ horizontal gesture which can be set in the Now Playing screen.

Problem solved:

The current behavior is inconsistent; there are two ways to change tracks but only one which will respect the pause state.

Brought benefits:

Users with button-free Now Playing screens will be able to skip songs without beginning playback.

Inspired by me, nearly blowing my ears out while working on my Now Playing screens because I was listening to another app with the volume cranked way up and swiped to the next track to see how the layout was working… Only to be greeted by the song beginning to play. Lol hopefully it’ll be the last time.
