Option to Display Artist as a Chip on Expanded Player (Portrait) Now Playing Screen

Feature description:

Hi,
I’d love to request a small but useful feature for the Now Playing screen in the Expanded Player (Portrait) view.

Currently, under Strings, the artist name is displayed in plain text. It would be great to have an option to display the artist name as a chip (or similar visual element), similar to how genres or tags might be shown. This would enhance both the look and usability of the interface — especially when dealing with multiple artists.

This chip-style display could also potentially be interactive in the future (e.g., tapping it to navigate to the artist’s page), but even just a visual change would be a great improvement for clarity and aesthetics.

Thanks for the continued development — the app is fantastic!

Problem solved:

When multiple artists are involved in a track, the current plain text display can look cluttered and be harder to read quickly. It lacks visual separation and hierarchy, making it less user-friendly — especially on devices with smaller screens or for users who listen to a wide range of collaborative music.

Brought benefits:

Improved readability: Chips or pill-shaped elements help visually separate artist names, making it easier to scan.

Cleaner UI: It enhances the visual layout of the Now Playing screen, making it feel more modern and organized.

Consistency: If other metadata like genres are chip-based, this would align artist display with that style.

Future functionality potential: Chips could become tappable in future updates, offering quicker access to artist profiles or related tracks.

The value displayed is the display artist, it can be very different from the actual artist lists and names depending on the provider, the tags and the settings.

There’s no plan to handle more detailed artist data there as it would be insanely complex for very little gain.
