It won’t sync. It gets somewhere around 50k files and then just drops the sync. From my limited knowledge in reading the log it looks like it shows a “low memory” error and shuts down from that but idk what the heck that could be as I have 200gb of free space and my phone has never had this error before about memory.

Additional information:
The only thing I saw in the logs was a memory low error but idk what that means exactly. It also looks like that markus schulz album might be causing a problem. I’m removing it for now just in case.
Reproduction steps:
I tried normal sync. I tried clearing cache. I tried clearing the media provider and re-adding. I’ve rebooted.
Hi, I’ve had a lot of problems with OneDrive recently and it wasn’t even with Symfonium. Apparently everything starts working but after a while it stops. As I have a family plan I created several accounts and they all had the same problem. I switched to dropbox and everything is fine. I also tried google drive and pCloud, both of which worked, but I ended up opting for DropBox.
But what does this mean as I have no issue with any other provider? Is it a memory leak while scanning or symfonium holds all the data in RAM until complete and that’s why it’s failing? I guess I’ll have to merge everything back to gdrive for now. That’ll be fun lol - moving 900gb of remote files eesh!
Thx for your reply. Yeah I guess onedrive just won’t work properly unfortunately. As I said in my other post I think I’ll have to migrate everything to another service.
So I have found airexplorer on windows and android. Found a version for free that allows 5 simultaneous files to upload/download and i have it moving my one drive files back to Google.
The issue is weird. I don’t understand why the sync process holds up system memory the way it does. It absolutely exhibits signs of a memory leak, my phone starts to slow down and lag like crazy and I have never seen that from a sync ever. I am syncing a lot of small eps and singles so I guess just the sheer amount of files and the like is the problem but I don’t know.
I have a family plan related to OneDrive. So far, I have had no synchronization problems. Symfonium finishes syncing and displays all my files. I only have 240gb of songs.
I can’t get it to work anymore. I will say this - when I previously used mp3s in my onedrive it seemed to work OK, meaning small file sizes, now most of my music is a form of lossless and it is 10 times the size of an mp3. All I can guess is that due to the large file sizes and the time it takes to read the amount I have (you said 240 gb, I’m just shy of 2 tb…) it is triggering some time out error or it’s cacheing files faster than it clears them back out of memory causing the slowdown and subsequent failed syncs.
I started moving everything back to gdrive. It’ll take some time but it’s automated now with air explorer and I already had a successful sync.
I totally switched off OneDrive a while back due to constant bad performance. I also really hated how difficult it is to move large datasets from onedrive. In my case it was photos.
In the end I used Rclone which was a real lifesaver:
Thanks. Yeah I started digging into rclone but after just starting to use python I wasn’t in the mood to start learning a new command line program. I found another program that works but it’s slow. Currently I’m using the program with also downloading some of the folders locally and uploading manually to the new drive that way. I’m on day 3 and I’m hoping it’ll finish up within the next couple of days.
Quite frankly onedrive is easier to use as its more easily integrated into my pc and phone and also uploads way faster than gdrive but if it won’t sync what does that matter lol?
Its the bandwidth speed I have available to me currently that is making it slow I would have to say so I don’t know if another program will make a difference but I can try! I’ve tried both air explorer and rclone. They both seem to transfer around 2 mbps a second (4 file downloads at 400-500 kbps).
Oh dude. Duuuuddeeeee! Amazing, I will try as soon as I get home! Im on day 5 of the mass exodus project which has comprised of the aforementioned programs, local downloads and re-upload which id also fast but on a budget 500gb machine with 50gb space available…it is a bit of a pain.
