Newly calculated ReplayGain tags on offline cached files in Jellyfin
It is less of an issue and more a question to verify whether I have this correct, because I find it hard to verify myself. I have offline cached playlists and recently decided to calculate ReplayGain tags for them using Picard (+ rsgain).
I resynced the library so the tags were updated and it all works excellently when I am directly streaming from what I can see. My question is: do the tags for already cached files also update after a library resync, or should I remove the offline cached files first and redownload them in order for the new tags to work? I think the latter is the case, but I would like to make sure. Thanks in advance!
Probably better to redownload them if you can.
I know there have been some posts on a similar topic, and I think that was the answer given. I’d have to dig a bit to be sure though.
Seems like it should update the changed tags when syncing, at least for online library. Unsure about offline cache though. (Based on this topic).
That’s about all I could find. Lyric updates don’t seem to sync for offline cache (there’s an open feature request related to that) but those are not necessarily tied to metadata.
So sadly I have no answer for you lol. ReplayGain is easy enough to check for though. If you have the time to check it yourself, let us know the result!
Or maybe someone else will chime in with more info?
