New documentation site

Introducing the new website for documentation:

The documentation is also linked to a chat GPT assistant that can help you based on those docs:

Please remember that chatGPT can hallucinate and you should click the doc links it will propose.

This thread is the thread to report documentation issues, outdated docs (there’s still plenty), and anything related to that site.

The new site looks very clean and easy to navigate! Nicely done.

I assume all actual edits will be handled by yourself? (Unlike here, where others can edit the pages.) I’m sure you probably end up doing most of the changes yourself anyway, so that isn’t much of a difference.

That said, I’ll try to set some time aside (on the weekend?) to give the pages on the new site a thorough look-through. Gives me something new to bug you about :stuck_out_tongue:

There was like 1 maybe 2 edits by users only in a year

But we are now in an age where AI can do quite good automatic translations, and can directly fix my bad English as I do the updates  And it can even update the pure technical parts automatically.

This should help to have a more up to date docs, even if I still do not have enough time to handle everything.

Okay, I’ve read through all of the pages. Most of the “issues” I found were just minor wording/grammar stuff. The actual things to look at are listed below:

  1. On the Settings - Interface page, there is no link to the Settings - Interface - Search page. It is listed in this category on the side bar but I don’t think it was linked to from any wiki page.

  2. The FAQ main page shows two links under the “Providers and authentication” header. Following the “Plex does not show…” link, the sidebar groups this page under the “Library & metadata” category instead.

  3. The Interface - Now playing screens page includes a link to the “Styles and Themes” forum section instead of the Styles website

Full notes attached below. Hopefully it’s organized well enough to be useful. Searching for “moved” should show which settings are no longer on that page, while searching “UPDATE” should show the pages with several new options to document.

I don’t know how much you plan to completely rewrite so I didn’t try to do any rewriting myself. If you want some human eyes to read through the AI output, just let me know.
